Nifty holds 8850 amid volatility; Bharti Airtel, ITC drag - Update By Money Maker Research


Equity benchmarks were off day's high in morning, weighed by banking & financials, telecom and select FMCG & technology stocks. However, Reliance and Tata Motors continued to support the market. BSE Sensex has dropped 26 points at 28635 while Nifty is 6 points down at 8872. BSE Small Cap is 67 points up at 13657 while BSE MidCap has hiked 67 points at 13582.

Asian Market Updates: In Asian Market, Japan's Nikkei has rose 130 points up at 19381 while Hong Kong's Hang Seng slipped down 121 points at 24024 and Shanghai Composite is live at 3249 with minor hike of 9 points.

Indian Stock Market Update

Equity Benchmark indices continued to fall amid consolidation in morning, dragged by profit booking ahead of outcome of two-day monetary policy committee due tomorrow. The 30-share index BSE Sensex has dropped down 59 points at 28379 and 50-share index has lost 19 points at 8781. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices were up 0.4 percent each on positive breadth. BSE Small Cap was 48 points up at 13588 while BSE MidCap was 21 points up at 13452. About 1241 shares advanced against 892 declining shares on the exchange.

Top NSE Gainer's: BHEL, Bharti Infratel, BPCL, Kotak Mahindra, Asian Paints 

Top NSE Loser's: Tata Motors (D), Tata Motors, Zee Entertain, ACC, Bosch

Latest Commodity Market Update By Experts

Indian Stock Market is struggling between the gains and the losses. Sensex is 30 points down at 28196 and Nifty is 10 points down at 8723. Stock Market Telecom stocks are gaining grounds on bourses with major stocks in the index trading in green on the BSE. MTNL is up by 14.78%, RCom is up by 14.52% and Infratel is up by 3.87%. Infratel contributing 38% to the index gains. 

PRECIOUS METALS: Precious metals prices rose to an 11- week high on Thursday after the U.S. Federal Reserve gave no clear signal on the likelihood of a March interest rate increase in its latest statement, prompting another drop in the U.S. dollar.

ENERGY: Crude oil prices trade lower yesterday, giving back early gains as traders grew less concerned about tensions between the United States and Iran.

BASE METALS: Industrial metal prices traded mixed yesterday as Fed’s status quo in interest rates led to weakness in the DX in the earlier part. However, focus soon shifted to US nonfarm report due Friday.

Sensex, Nifty Rangebound - Idea, Airtel Moving Up

Stock market is continuously moving on a flat note with Sensex live at 27862 with 20 points down and Nifty losing 6 points at 8634. Indian currency Rupee is trading higher by 3 paise at 68.01 against US Dollar. About 1178 shares have advanced, 1341 shares have declined and 290 shares are still unchanged. 

Gainers: Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel, Grasim, Sun Pharma, Dr Reddys Labs
Losers: Bharti Infratel, Aurobindo Pharm, Tata Motors (D), Tata Steel, Tata Motors.

Commodity Update MCX Gold prices to trade higher on Monday, propped up by a weaker dollar and sluggish economic data from the US, while the Lunar New Year holiday in Asia was seen limiting the gains. Gold has hiked 34 points at 28387 and Silver has jumped up 43 points at 41475. Crude Oil is 2 points up at 3610.

Sensex, Nifty maintain morning gains; Ajanta Pharma most active

Benchmark indices retained morning gains with the Nifty holding 8400 level ahead of expiry of January derivative contracts tomorrow and Union Budget that will be presented on February 1. In broader market, maximum sectors are trading in the positive zone with high positive leads. BSE SmallCap is rising high with 69 points lead and BSE MidCap has hiked 50 points at 12695.

Sugar stocks are in focus in first half of Tuesday’s trading session. Ponni Sugars gained 7.82%. Uttam Sugar Mills Limited gained 7.1%. About 1426 shares have advanced over 1007 shares declined and 284 shares are still unchanged.

Losers: HUL, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, HCL Tech, ITC

Sensex gains strength, Nifty inches towards 8450; GAIL surges 5%

Benchmark indices gained strength amid volatility in noon trade with the Nifty inching towards 8450 level, supported by oil & gas, PSU banks and telecom stocks. All major sectoral indices were trading in green, with Automobile, Banks, FMCG and Metal stocks pulling the broader markets up. GAIL, Tata Motors (D), Idea Cellular, BPCL and Tata Motors were the top gainers on Nifty. UltraTechCement, Wipro, Axis Bank, Hindalco and Cipla were the top losers. Today, 1400 shares have advanced against the declination of 1113 shares, where 286 shares have remained unchanged.

In Asian Market, Japan's Nikkei has moved up 177 points at 19072, Hang Seng has dropped 76 points at 23021 while China's benchmark index Shanghai Composite has lost 11 points at 3101.

Stock and Commodity Market Update By Money Maker Research

More companies are advancing in the market with 1274 advances & 735 declines while 106 stocks are unchanged on BSE. The 30-share index Sensex is trading at 27312.39 up 24.22 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8433.65 up 20.85 points. A total of 28 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 6 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.42% at 12726.56, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.57% at 12835.29. Surprisingly all the sectors except the Metal sector are trading in positive zone. Jindal Steel, JSW Steel and Hindalco are seen to pull down the Metal sector in Tuesday’s trading session. Asian Paints, Hindustan Unilever, Bank of Baroda, Zee Entertainment and Axis Bank are among the gainers, whereas Reliance, Cipla, Tata Steel, Adani Ports and ACC are losing sheen on NSE in the morning trading session.

In Commodity Segment, except Gold, Silver and Cotton all the other commodity are down. Gold is 108 points up at 28637 while Silver moved up 253 points at 41213 and Cotton jumped up 180 points at 19960
